During Art Basel Miami Beach 2007 the China Chair Project Exhibition presented functional contemporary Chinese Sculpture at the Carlyle Hotel, Miami Beach. The artists were selected by Paul Hughes. Many of the artists participating in the project had never worked in three-dimensional media before, and all but one had never worked on a chair. Each work on display requires the presence of the human body to complete its function. The artists participating are Zhan Wang, UNMASK, Shi Jinsong, Xiang Jing, Shi Jianmin, Da Zhi, Xiang Yun, Muchen & Shao Yinong, He Yunchang, Wang Qinsong, and Guangci.
