Max Lamb: Solids of Revolution / Designers of the Future Award / Design Miami Basel 2008

Max Lamb is one of the four designers / design collectives who won the “Designers of the Future Award 2008”. Each of the designers were commissioned by the the design fair Design Miami Basel to create new works using concrete and wool. Max Lamb developed “Solids of Revolution”, two collections of stools in concrete and wool felt formed using rotational cutting processes. VernissageTV correspondent Sabine Trieloff met with Max Lamb on the occasion of the press preview. In this video Max Lamb talks about the process of developing the stools, the characteristics of the material, the usage of the objects, and ECAL / University of Art and Design Lausanne, where he teaches on the Industrial Design course. PPS: The ECAL presented a collection of hand-blown glass lamps by a selected group of 1st and 2nd year students from the industrial design department, under the guidance of Max Lamb in collaboration with Matteo Gonet, a young glass blower from Bern.
