Stefan Kürten: Trains and Boats and Planes / Alexander and Bonin, New York

Trains and Boats and Planes is Stefan Kürten’s fourth solo show at the Chelsea-based gallery Alexander and Bonin. The subject of Stefan Kurten’s paintings are landscapes and interiors. Fragmented architectural details are woven together to form a tight pattern.
In addition to the paintings, Stefan Kürten presents his new series of lithographs, Plantinum Collection. An album of original songs written and performed by Stefan Kürten accompanies the six print portfolio co-published by Mike Karstens, Münster and Alexander and Bonin Publishing.
Stefan Kürten (born 1963) was a student of Michael Buthe at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. He later studied and taught at the Art Institute of San Francisco. His paintings are included in the permanent collections of several European institutions as well as the Museum of Modern Art, New York.
Stefan Kürten’s exhibition at Alexander and Bonin runs through November 15, 2008.
