Kriwet at BQ Berlin

In a temporary exhibition space in Berlin’s Linienstrasse, BQ Berlin presents an exhibition with works by Ferdinand Kriwet. The solo show combines the result of his latest artistic work with a selection of early artworks from the 1960s and 1970s.

Ferdinand Kriwet is a multimedia artist who works with text, language and concrete poetry since the 1960s. Kriwet is known for his circular use of text in his Text Signs, Text Dias and Text Sails. He may be seen as a precedent for the work of Jenny Holzer and other artists in the 1980s.

Ferdinand Kriwet was born in Düsseldorf / Germany in 1942 and lives in Dresden. Kriwet also produced sound-picture-collages and experiments in radio, television and publishing. He was included in the ICA exhibitions “Between Poetry and Painting” and “Poor. Old. Tired. Horse.” and had a solo show at The Modern Institute, Glasgow, in 2008.
