Christina McPhee: Shed / VernissageTV Video Art Program at Open Space, Art Cologne 2011 / Interview

Christina McPhee is one of the artist that VernissageTV is presenting within the framework of its video art program. As in previous years, VernissageTV is not only media partner of Art Cologne, but also is present with an open studio and screens in the Open Space section of the art fair. The screens are embedded this time in the Open Space Reader’s Lounge, this year’s theme of Open Space.

As in previous years, VernissageTV curated a video program for the fair. This year, the artists are G.H. Hovagimyan who presents “Sea/Saw” and “Boxing Rants Beta”. Boxing Rants Beta is a series of video sketches in preparation for an interactive performance. At Art Cologne visitors get a first look at the sketches. Then there is Maria Joao Salema who shows her video “Moonriver”; Lee Wells with “The Pirate Flag”; Heinz Sandoza, Gao Bizi and Lars from Trier with their “Ultra Art Fair”; and Christina McPhee, who presents her new work “Shed”.

Shed is a long-term video and drawing project. Shed explores a two hundred square foot drawing shed through a period of two years. In this video, Christina McPhee talks about “Shed” and her work in general. More information about her work and that of the other artists is also available in our current PDF Magazine, which is available for free download here.
