Out now: VernissageTV PDF-magazine No. 25, May 2013.
One of the main topics of this issue is the 55th International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia. The main exhibition is titled The Encyclopedic Palace and has a strong focus on outsider art. Jochen Fey writes about one of these artists, Friedrich Schröder-Sonnenstern (in German language). We also look back at Art Basel 2013 (especially the Unlimited sector), and Documenta-artist Geoffrey Farmer at Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst. On the occasion of the opening of the second Calder Gallery at Fondation Beyeler, we did a video walkthrough of the exhibition and an interview with Alexander S. C. Rower (Chairman and President of the Calder Foundation) and Oliver Wick (Curator at large, Fondation Beyeler). The magazine includes a transcript of the interview. There’s also a photo series on Zilvinas Kempinas’ work Kakashi, which is currently on show at Museum Tinguely and at Sculpture Park Kloster Schönthal in Switzerland. Finally, there’s a photo portrait of a design icon, the Nizo S 800 Braun Super 8 film camera. We have also produced a video of the camera that is available as a bonus downloadable video for all readers of this magazine.
