Peter Doig at Fondation Beyeler

Running concurrently with the Courbet show, the Fondation Beyeler in Riehen (Basel, Switzerland), presents an exhibition with major works by Peter Doig. On display are oil paintings, experimental works on paper, and a monumental new mural that was created in collaboration with Peter Doig’s students. This video provides you with an exhibition walkthrough on the occasion of the opening reception of the show.

Peter Doig was born in Edinburgh in 1959. He grew up in Trinidad and Canada and now divides his time between Trinidad, London and New York. His works are based on private photographs and images from the media and movies. From this starting point, he creates colorful works that primarily show people, architecture and landscape.
