Walter Maciel of Walter Maciel Gallery, Los Angeles, talks about his gallery, Los Angeles’ contemporary art scene and the artist he showed at PULSE New York art fair 2006, John Bankston. Bankston has a solo show at the de Young Museum in San Francisco entitled Locating Desire (through June 25, 2006). He works in drawing and painting. Walter Maciel has worked as a gallery director in San Francisco for the past 13 years. He moved to LA and just opened his own space in the new Culver City district of Los Angeles.
