Tacita Dean, Francis Alÿs at Schaulager Basel.
The fourth exhibition in Schaulager is dedicated to the work of the English artist Tacita Dean (b. 1965 in Canterbury, lives in Berlin) and that of the Belgian artist Francis Alÿs (b. 1959 in Antwerp, lives in Mexico City): Tacita Dean: “Analogue: Films, Photographs, Drawings 1991-2006″. Francis Alÿs: “The Sign Painting Project (1993-97): A Revision”.
Schaulager is an institution dedicated to contemporary art – its conservation, research and dissemination. It originates from the Emanuel Hoffmann Foundation, whose collection is stored at Schaulager under optimal conservation conditions. Architecture by Herzog & de Meuron, Director of the Laurenz Foundation and the Schaulager: Theodora Vischer. Opening reception, Schaulager, Basel, May 12, 2006.
