The Expanded Eye, Kunsthaus Zurich / Interview with curator Bice Curiger / part 1
In the first part of the interview Bice Curiger talks about the idea behind the exhibition “The Expanded Eye” and the references to “The Responsive Eye”, an exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York (1965), and the book “Expanded Cinema” (1970).
Bice Curiger is a curator at the Kunsthaus Zürich and has organized numerous exhibitions since 1992, including Birth of the Cool, Freie Sicht aufs Mittelmeer- Contemporary Swiss Art, and Hypermental. She studied art history at the University of Zurich, co-founder and editor-in-chief of the art journal “Parkett” and editorial director of “Tate etc.“. Her publications include Meret Oppenheim – Spuren durchstandener Freiheit. Her collected essays, Kunst expansiv – Zwischen Gegenkultur und Museum have recently been published.
