Olaf Metzel: noproblem / Von der Heydt-Museum Wuppertal

The German artist Olaf Metzel (*1952) is very well known for his provocative artwork which often launches discussions on social and political controversial subjects. Using different media, he seduces the viewer to have a closer view on the problems of our time. In Olaf Metzel’s current show at the Von der Heydt-Museum in Wuppertal / Germany are older works next to recent works like “Turkish delight, 2006″, a bronze sculpture of a young Turkish woman, just dressed with an islamic headscarf. A catalogue with texts from Harald Falckenberg, Herbert Pogt, Uwe M. Schneede, Ayşegül Sönmez, Marlene Streeruwitz and Olaf Metzel is published on the occasion of the exhibition: Olaf Metzel- noproblem. The exhibiton curated by Dr. Herbert Pogt runs until November 25, 2007. By Thom de Bock.
