Theodore Bouloukos talks with Eric Singer, founder of LEMUR at the Editions/Artists’ Book Fair Opening Night Gala in New York

Eric Singer’s LEMUR – the League of Electronic Musical Urban Robots – is a Brooklyn-based group of artists and technologists who create robotic musical instruments. Founded in 2002, LEMUR recently performed at the Opening Night Gala of the Editions/Artists’ Book Fair (E/AB), benefiting Art Radio WPS1.org, the Web radio station of P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center. VTV’s New York correspondent Theodore Bouloukos met up with Eric Singer, a musician and engineer, and LEMUR’s founder, who gives us an insight into the world of robotic musical instruments. LEMUR builds robots as new types of musical instruments, as opposed to animatronic robots that play existing instruments. Now in its 10th year, the E/AB Fair is the premier showcase for contemporary publishers and dealers presenting the latest and greatest in prints, multiples, and artists’ books.
