July 12, 2008
At Art Santa Fe 2008 at the booth of Osuna Art, we discovered a kinetic sculpture by San Francisco-based artist Fletcher Benton. During the Sixties he was part of the kinetic movement. Fletcher Benton was born in 1931 in Jackson, Ohio. He studied at the Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. From 1967 until 1986 he teached at the California State University in San Jose. In 2008 he received the Lifetime Achievement in Contemporary Sculpture Award from the International Sculpture Center in Hamilton, New Jersey. Susie Fuller, Senior Associate at Jenkins Johnson Gallery in San Francisco tells us more about Fletcher Benton and his kinetic sculptures. Art Santa Fe, July 11, 2008.
