Mike + Doug Starn: Big Bambú / Talk / part 1/2
April 9, 2009
This is the first part of a talk the artists Doug and Mike Starn held at their studio in Beacon. Mike and Doug Starn talk about their large installation called Big Bambú, a massive, moving construction made out of countless bamboo poles that is in constant transformation (see also this video on VernissageTV: Mike + Doug Starn: Big Bambú). Part 2 of the talk will follow tomorrow.
Mike + Doug Starn: Big Bambú. Open Studio / Private View, Beacon / New York, March 8, 2009.

An extraordinary concept. My 14 yr old son was particularly taken by the idea of deconstructing and re-constructing the trailing and leading edges and photographing the process to present an image of an object that never existed in its exhibited / documented form. Kudos to Vernissage for this great site. This has to be the best coverage of contemporary art practice on the web.
