Dark Fair Cologne 2009
April 24, 2009
The Dark Fair is an experimental miniature art fair. It’s special in that it takes place without the use of natural or electric light. An international selection of galleries and artists are displaying work custom to these conditions, using candlelight, flashlights, oil lamps, work that glows in the dark, light sculpture, battery powered film and video, and unplugged performances.
The Dark Fair 09 Cologne is presented by Milwaukee International in cooperation with Kölnischer Kunstverein and Art Cologne. Milwaukee International is Nicholas Frank, Scott Reeder, John Riepenhoff, Elysia Borowy-Reeder and Tyson Reeder. Projects include the Milwaukee International Art Fair 2006 and 2008 in Milwaukee, Dark Fair 2008 in New York and the upcomping Ice Fair, taking place on a frozen lake in Winnipeg in 2011. VernissageTV covered the Dark Fair 2008 at the Swiss Institute in New York, click here to watch the video.
The fair’s location is Kölnischer Kunstverein. Dark Fair Cologne, Opening, April 22, 2009.
