Raymond Pettibon: The Big Picture / David Zwirner Gallery, New York

On September 11, 2007, Vernissage TV attended the opening of a new exhibition of drawings by Los Angeles-based artist Raymond Pettibon at David Zwirner, New York. It’s Raymond Pettibon’s seventh solo exhibition at David Zwirner Gallery. Raymond Pettibon is considered as one of the most influential contemporary artists working today. He is included in the 52nd Venice Biennale (until November 21, 2007). Recently his work has also been shown at CAC Málaga, Spain; Kestner Gesellschaft, Hannover, Germany and Kunsthalle Wien, Austria. Raymond Pettibon received the Bucksbaum Award following his participation in the 2004 Whitney Biennial. The drawings presented at David Zwirner to a large extend address current political and social concerns, including American foreign policy and the war in Iraq.
