Opening of the Museum of Contemporary Art (MACE) in Elvas / Portugal

The MACE’s first exhibition displays only a fraction of the António Cachola Collection. Currently, the vaults of the MACE hold over three hundred pieces of the Cachola Collection, which will be put on display over time, in accordance with the availability of new exhibition spaces. The Collection only features the work of Portuguese artists and has no limitations in terms of technique, subject or aesthetics. It offers an overview of the historical, critically productive realities defined by the work of artists that began producing or attained relevance between the 1980s and the present day. July 6, 2007.
