An Atlas of Events / Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation / Lisbon, Portugal

The curators António Pinto Ribeiro, Debra Singer and Esra Sarigedik í–ktem chose 28 artist from all over the world (among them: í‚ngela Ferreira, Josephine Meckseper, Mircea Cantor and others) for the exhibition “An Atlas of Events”, which marks the end of the year-long Cultural Forum “The State of the World” in which the production of theories and ideas was accompanied by reflection and debate, and where creativity and cultural and artistic practices interacted with a wide range of different audiences. The cultural Forum “The State of the World” is an international cross-disciplinary programme of Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and is part of the celebrations for the Foundation’s 50th anniversary. The exhibiton runs from 7 October until 30 December, 2007 in the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Lisbon. The catalogue “An Atlas of Events / Platform 3″ is published on the occasion of the exhibition. By Thom de Bock.
