Sculptures / The Margulies Collection at the Warehouse, Miami / Interview with Curator Katherine Hinds / part 1/2

On the occasion of the current exhibition “Sculptures” at the Margulies Collection at the Warehouse, we met Katherine Hinds, the chief curator of the Margulies Collection. She has been the curator of the collection since 1982. In this interview with Katherine Hinds she tells us about the current exhibition, and talks about the highlights of the collection, the educational component of the collection, the program the collection runs throughout the year, the curator-collector relationship, her background, and the importance of art fairs for collectors. Education is an essential component of the Margulies Collection. “We are very interested in teaching visual intelligence to young students… The foundation was organized over 25 years ago with the mission of bringing education particularly to those people who would not have access to art otherwise.” (Katherine Hinds). Miami, Florida, December 13, 2007.
