Jeff Elrod at Leo Koenig Inc. New York

For his current exhibition at the gallery Leo Koenig Inc. in New York, the artist Jeff Elrod has created a series of large scale and medium sized works. The starting point of the pieces on display is a process Jeff Elrod calls “Frictionless Drawing”. The drawings are made with a computer mouse, which allows the hand to glide into a smooth detached aesthetic. For the exhibition at Leo Koenig Inc., all the paintings have emanated from variations made to a single drawing file.
Jeff Elrod lives and works in Marfa Texas. He will have a solo show at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth in 2009.
