With KölnSkulptur 5 – Reality Check, the Stiftung Skulpturenpark Köln in Cologne, Germany, is continuing the series of KölnSkulptur exhibitions, initiated by the founders of the sculpture park, Michael and Eleonore Stoffel.
KölnSkulptur 5 opened in April 2009 and runs until April 2011. The exhibition presents 17 new works by Aaron Curry, Christina Doll, Alexander Esters, Katharina Fritsch, Bernd Kastner, Norbert Kricke, Jonathan Meese, Isa Melsheimer, Thomas Moecker, Thomas Rentmeister, Michael Sailstorfer, Jan Philip Scheibe, Dirk Skreber, Torsten Slama, Alan Sonfist, Thomas Stimm and Ina Weber. In addition to the works from the previous exhibitions, the sculpture park features 41 works by artists such as James Lee Byars, Anish Kapoor, Joel Shapiro, Bogomir Ecker, Andreas Slominski, Fischli / Weiss, Jorge Pardo, Mark di Suvero, Barry Flanagan, Manfred Pernice, Rosemarie Trockel, Tobias Rehberger, Bernar Venet, Dan Graham, Paul Wallach, Jenny Holzer, Ulrich Rückriem, Leiko Ikemura, Martin Willing, Jörg Immendorf, and Heimo Zobernig.
In this video, we take a walk in the park and have a look at the works, expecially the 17 new ones. In a previous video we had a closer look at one of the obviously most popular works in the park, Dirk Skreber’s work car crash installation “Reaktor“.
