Agnès Varda at La Maison de la Poésie, Basel and Art Unlimited / Art 41 Basel / Conversation

Legendary Nouvelle-Vague Filmmaker, Photographer and Artist Agnès Varda is presenting her work for the first time in Switzerland. Her new instalation ‘La Cabane sur la plage (qui est aussi une cabine de projection)’ at Art Unlimited during the Basel Art Fair 41, is hosted by Galerie Nathalie Obadia. A comprehensive retrospective of her films is taking place during the whole month of June at the Stadtkino Basel. Born in Ixelles, Belgium in 1928 to Franco – Greek parents, Agnès Varda lives and works in Paris.

La Maison de la Poésie is a private space of curatorial practice which invites a few outstanding guests during the year. It has opened in May 2008 with the film programm ‘Chris Marker, inside the Time Tunnel’ presented by film historian Thomas Tode, and it houses one of the oldest and perhaps most beautifull Wisteria vines in the city of Basel.
