Zona MACO – Zona México Arte Contemporáneo Contemporary Art Fair 2011

Zona MACO is an international fair for contemporary art in Mexico City. This year’s fair that runs from 6 – 10 April, 2011 includes presentations from more than 90 galleries from around the world. They show more than 900 artists in over 10,000 square meters of exhibition space at Mexico City’s Centro Banamex. In this video by our correspondent Jacinto Astiazarán, we go on a walkthrough of the fair.

Zona MACO presents itself as the “most important Art Fair in Mexico”. Zona MACO features different sections: The main section hosts galleries that are already more than five years old, whereas the New Proposals section is dedicated to galleries that exist less than 5 years and present emerging artists. There’s also a publications section, a section devoted to solo projects (Zona MACO South), and Zona MACO Design, a section that presents national and international design galleries.
