AKASO. Contemporary Mexican Art at Museo Universitario Chopo

AKASO is a collection of contemporary Mexican art. It brings together 26 monumental paintings and 21 videos and is complemented by a documentary film about the creative process of the artists and the project, and a TV series. The exhibition runs until 10 August at the Museo Universitario Chopo.

AKASO is an initiative of the art collector Sergio Autrey, who commissioned the paintings in order to support Mexican painting. The basic criteria for the selection of the artists was that their principal activity was painting. The videos were created by 21 video and animation artists who were invited to create a piece based or inspired by the 26 paintings or their authors.
