Brazilian Designer Hugo França at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden / Interview

As part of the annual Art at Fairchild exhibitions held at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden in Coral Gables, Florida, the Brazilian designer Hugo França is the featured designer for the 2013-2014 season of Design at Fairchild. Hugo França uses all natural materials to create sustainable design pieces. Each work uses reclaimed wood from felled, burned or dead trees found in Brazil, thus giving new life to trees that are sometimes hundreds of years old. The exhibition at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden is curated by Cristina Grajales of the Cristina Grajales Gallery in New York. The show presents sixteen chaises, benches and sculptures and runs until May 31, 2014.
