Dimitar Solakov: The Story of Art – a Concise Version / Sariev Project Space, Plovdiv (Bulgaria)

On the occasion of the 10th Anniversary of the Night of Museums and Galleries in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, the gallery Sariev Contemporary opened two exhibitions: M – Ute Müller, Christoph Meier at their main gallery space, and Dimitar Solakov: The Story of Art – a Concise Version at the gallery’s project space in the historic Kapana Quartier of Plovdiv. As part of the gallery’s platform for young artists and curators, called “Background: Young Artists”, the 2014 edition presents Dimatar Solakov’s solo project “The Story of Art – A Concise Version”. The show was nominated for this year’s BAZA Award for Contemporary Art and contains 28 works referring to different periods of art history and related chapters from Ernst H. Gombrich’s book “The Story of Art”. In this video, the Dimatar Solakov explains the concept behind the show and provides us with a guided tour of the exhibition.
