Gyula Várnai: Philophony, 1999

1, 2, 3: In this Snapshot video we have a look at Gyula Várnai’s sound installation Philophony (courtesy of Szűcs Collection, Budapest), which was part of the exhibition Bookmarks – Hungarian neo-avant garde and post-conceptual art from the late 1960s to the present at Art Cologne 2015. Bookmarks traces the history and impact of important currents of Hungarian art over the last 50 years.

The special exhibition Bookmarks presented several of the most important artistic positions of the Hungarian neo-avant garde and post-conceptual art from the late 1960s to the present. The exhibition was organised and curated by the three Budapest galleries acb, Kisterem and Vintage, which were also being represented as exhibitors in the Collaborations sector in hall 11.3.
