C.O. Paeffgen Solo Exhibition at Ruttkowski;68, Cologne

“Nachrichten in Anführungsstrichen” (News in quotation marks) is the first exhibition of German artist C.O. Paeffgen with the gallery Ruttkowski;68 in Cologne. Claus Otto Paeffgen was born in 1933 in Cologne, Germany. C.O. Paeffgen studied law in Cologne and Berlin. In 1970 he began to paint and at the same time produced objects, the wrappings. He is known for his wrappings of everyday objects and borders around images published in newspapers. Throughout the past 30 years, he created a world of news, a journal on canvasses, consisting of headlines, newsflashes, and text excerpts.

Ruttkowski;68 is a contemporary art gallery located on Lichtstraße 8 – 24 in Cologne, Germany. The gallery represents artists such as Philip Emde, Jårg Geismar, Brad Downey, Rebecca Morgan, and Filippo Minelli.
