VTV Classics (r3): The Cartoon Cover Band at Scope New York (2007)

In 2007, Matt Freedman, Tim Spelios and David Weinstein of The Cartoon Cover Band performed one of their Lightning Sketch shows for Vernissage TV at the Scope Art Fair in New York City. Tim Spelios and David Weinstein play while Matt Freedman draws versions of Ernie Bushmiller’s old Nancy comics. Matt Freedman is an artist and a writer and curator. Tim Spelios is a sound and multimedia artist. David Weinstein is composer and multimedia artist. These artists have exhibited, performed and directed at venues such as PS1, White Columns, Roulette, and Exit Art. New York, February 25, 2007. Part 1/3. Grizzly Lodge Series.

As one of the highlights of all the exhibitions and events we filmed for VernissageTV, we always wanted to republish the old footage in better quality – which we now finally did. Well, it’s obviously not HD, let alone 4k). So that’s how this video became the 73rd episode in our VTV Classics (r3) series. VTV Classics (r3) highlights the treasures of VernissageTV’s huge archive. Back then published in Standard Definition, these classics are now re-mastered, re-edited and reissued.
