Preceding his exhibition “Tree Connections” at Kulturstiftung Basel H. Geiger, Klaus Littmann created a temporary art intervention for the Münsterplatz in Basel. The installation has its origins in Littmann’s monumental art installation in Klagenfurt (Austria), where he filled the pitch of the Wörthersee stadium with 299 trees, an picture idea based on a small drawing by the artist Max Peintner from the early 1970s. In Basel, everything is concentrated on one single tree. The work is meant to challenge our perception and to sharpen our perspective on the future in relation to mankind and nature.
