One of the artworks on display at Andrew Kreps Gallery’s booth at Art Basel Miami Beach 2023 was American artits Andrea Bowers’ piece “Oceanfront Turquoise”, a slowly rotating disco ball with neon writing “STRONGER TOGETHER” on it, framed by neon flowers. Andrea Bowers is a contemporary American artist known for her socially and politically engaged artwork. Born in 1965, she explores issues such as feminism, labor, and activism through a variety of mediums, including drawing, painting, and installation art. Bowers often collaborates with activists and incorporates elements of protest and resistance into her work, creating pieces that challenge societal norms and advocate for social change.
