This is a rather special video. We were very much looking forward to this exhibition, so it was a shock when we realized that our camera was not working properly at the day of the filming. Luckily, we had also a little consumer photo camera with us. We knew that that image quality and resolution was rather crappy, but remember, this was 2007, and the best camera is the one that’s with you, right? So we published the video in 320×240 in February 2007. Years after, we wanted to publish a better version of the video with the help of some AI software, but – bummer! – couldn’t find the original files. Usually it’s quite easy to find the original files, our archival system turned out to be pretty good, but in this case: no luck. Until two days ago. While browsing some old Data-DVDs with photos, we found the video files. In hindsight no big surprise: if you shoot with a photo camera, it is (was) likely it ends up in your photo software. Anyways, we were finally able to give the files the r3 treatment. Well, it’s not 4K HDR obviously, but a stabilized, double resolution version of the original footage / video. We hope you enjoy this piece of nostalgia as much as we do. VTV Classics (r3) highlights the treasures of VernissageTV’s huge archive. Back then published in low resolution, these classics are now re-mastered, re-edited and reissued in better quality.
