Official description: Maneki Neko, the Japanese fortune cats are generally used for the purpose of bringing luck to the owners of a business. They invite passersby in by signaling that the store is open. A sign that while conveying a sense of openness and permeability, is a witness to a world full of contradictions and in constant transformation.
First made with my own hands by modelling plasticine, the three subjects, only a few centimeters tall, were then scanned, 3D-printed and milled using various materials and different techniques. For the Swiss Art Awards, they appear as wallpaper and as a series of ceramic figures.
