During Art Basel Miami Beach 2024, The Great Elephant Migration—a traveling herd of 100 life-sized Indian elephant sculptures handcrafted with the stalks of an invasive weed—has been on display in Miami Beach! Each elephant is for sale and “benefits Indigenous and community-led conservation efforts—specifically, conservation NGOs supporting remarkable people around the world who have found ways to live alongside some of the planet’s most challenging wildlife—and inspires peaceful coexistence between humans and animals. The 100-strong herd will be on the beach, installed in conversation with an artwork by Art&Newport and The ReefLine. XERJOFF, the Italian luxury fragrance house, will join as lead sponsor in Miami and will share their fragrance, CoExistence, inspired by the flowers and plants of Indian Elephant habitats.” (PR The Great Elephant Migration)
