David Bowen: Tele-Present Water / WRO Media Biennale 2011 / Interview

May 24, 2011

In this video David Bowen explains his work, tele-present water. The installation recieived the ex aequo award, among three awarded works of the 14th WRO Biennale chosen by the WRO Art Center curators.

David Bowen’s installation draws information from the intensity and movement of the water in a remote location. Wave data is being collected in real-time from National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration data buoy station. The wave intensity and frequency is scaled and transferred to the mechanical grid structure resulting in a simulation of the physical effects caused by the movement of water from this distant location.

The WRO Biennale is organized by the WRO Media Art Center Foundation as part of the WRO Art Center’s activities.
