Jeff Wall / Galerie Rüdiger Schöttle, Munich

In 2008, Rüdiger Schöttle Gallery celebrated its 40th anniversary. An exhibition with works by Jeff Wall is rounding off a series of exhibitions the gallery has conceived to mark this occasion. The very first joint project between the Rüdiger Schöttle Gallery and Jeff Wall was a contribution to the exhibition “Westkunst”, which took place in Cologne in 1981 and was curated by Kaspar König and Lazlo Glozer. The current exhibition presents early works from the 1980s, including “A woman and her doctor” (1980/81), “Doorpusher” (1984), “The Smoker” (1986), “The Thinker“, (1986) and “The old prison” (1987).

Jeff Wall: Exposure (Belichtung) / Deutsche Guggenheim, Berlin / Opening Reception

This video shows the opening reception of the exhibition “Jeff Wall: Exposure” at the Deutsche Guggenheim in Berlin, Germany. It contains atmospherical shots and excerpts from the speeches of Friedhelm Hütte (Director, Deutsche Bank Art); Rolf Breuer (former Chairman of Deutsche Bank); Thomas Krens (Director, Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation); and Paul Dubois, Canada’s Ambassador to Germany. More information about the exhibition, the extensive supporting program (lectures, workshops etc.) and Deutsche Bank Art at Deutsche Guggenheim and db artmag. The exhibition runs until the 20th January 2008. Press Preview, November 2, 2007.

Jeff Wall: Exposure (Belichtung) is a special exhibition commissioned by the Deutsche Guggenheim in Berlin, Germany. Jeff Wall: Exposure presents, for the first time, four new, large-scale, black-and-white photographs by the Canadian artist Jeff Wall: Cold storage, Vancouver; Men waiting; War game; and Tenants. Also on display are five earlier pieces, gelatin-silver prints as well as transparencies mounted in lightboxes. In this video we have a look at the exhibition during the press preview. It contains pictures of the exhibition and statements by curator Jennifer Blessing of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, NY, and Jeff Wall. Coming soon: Impressions from the opening. Jeff Wall / Retrospective / Museum of Modern Art MoMA
The Museum of Modern Art, New York, is showing a major retrospective of Canadian artist Jeff Wall. Jeff Wall (born 1946) is widely recognized as one of the most adventurous and inventive artists of his generation. The retrospective at the MoMA comprises 40 works that span Wall’s carer from 1978 to the present. Five recent pictures are shown for the first time in North America. The exhibition is on view from February 25 through May 14, 2007. The MoMA publishes two publications to accompany the exhibition: The exhibition catalogue and a selection of Jeff Wall’s essays and interviews. Museum of Modern Art, New York, March 2, 2007.
