Chelsea Space: Shin Azumi and Norman McLaren / Interview with director Donald Smith

Chelsea space is a public gallery next to Tate Britain. Chelsea space is part of the Chelsea College of Art & Design and its programme which includes public exhibitions, lectures, concerts and events, some of which are organized in collaboration with the Tate Britain. Exhibitions director, Donald Smith says, “The intention for CHELSEA space is to create a research development centre for invited art and design professionals, providing a gallery space, library research facilities, and a platform to develop personal projects that may otherwise remain unrealised. An invitation to curate at CHELSEA space is not in expectation of definitive answers, but rather to open up discussion.” We met Donald Smith on occasion of the new exhibition “Shin Azumi and Norman McLaren“. He talks about the exhibition and the gallery. Chelsea space, London, May 16, 2007.
