Shirana Shahbazi and Wilhelm Sasnal at Swiss Institute, New York

Works by Shirana Shahbazi and Wilhelm Sasnal are on display at the Swiss Institute / Contemporary Art in New York. Shirana Shahbahzi (born in Tehran in 1974) presents a selection of color photographs and a painting transcribed from one of her photographs by a team of Iranian artists. It’s the largest exhibition of Shahbazi’s work to date in the United States. Wilhelm Sasnal (born in Poland in 1972) presents a new 16-mm film which is based on found footage of several Elvis performances and of American outsider musician Daniel Johnston.
