On our tour through Madrid and its region we visited Matadero Madrid, a former municipal slaughter house, that currently is being transformed into a cultural center dedicated to contemporary creation. The venue includes facilities for artists, filmmakers, designers, theatre production, exhibits, new technology etc. Matadero Madrid was presented to press and public on March 13, 2006. The Matadero Madrid Project comprises ten buildings and around 150.000 square meters. At the time of our visit, which was organized by Tourespana, Matadero Madrid featured work by Carmela Gross, Fernanda Gomes, QG do GIA (Grupo de Interferíªncia Ambiental, and Barbara Fluxá.
