Gilbert & George at the Brooklyn Museum / part 1/2

The Brooklyn Museum is the final venue of an international tour of the first retrospective in more than twenty years of work by Gilbert & George. On display are more than eighty pictures created since 1970. The exhibition traces Gilbert & George’s stylistic and emotional evolution through their pictures and art in other media.
In this two part documentary, Coordinating Curator Judy Kim talks about the concept of the show at the Brooklyn Museum, the works on display, Gilbert & George’s beginnings, the technical aspects of their work, and their influence on a younger generation of artists.
The exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum is on view through January 11, 2009.
