The exhibition Gilbert & George: The Great Exhibition, 1971-2016 at Luma Westbau & Kunsthalle Zürich is a retrospective that looks back at the oeuvre of Gilbert & George, two artists that have created art together for half a century. The show allows an insight into the artistic universe of Gilbert & George, with works that deal with death, hope, life, fear, sex, money, race and religion.
Gilbert & George: The Great Exhibition, 1971-2016 is organized by Luma Foundation and the Moderna Museet (Stockholm) in collaboration with Luma Westbau and Kunsthalle Zürich. Curated by Hans Ulrich Obrist and Daniel Birnbaum, the exhibition has been created in close collaboration with Gilbert & George. The show runs until July 12, 2020. After Zürich, the exhibition (previously shown at Luma Arles, Moderna Museet in Stockholm and Astrup Fearnley Museet Oslo) travels to the Reykjavik Art Museum in Iceland.
