Thomas Schütte at Fondation Beyeler

In this video, we attend the opening of German artist Thomas Schuette’s solo exhibition at Fondation Beyeler in Riehen (Basel, Switzerland). The exhibition has its focus on the human figure and its various forms of expression. On view are sculptures from the past thirty years as well as watercolor portraits and photographs. Major shows of recent years include exhibitions at the Haus der Kunst in Munich (2009), the Museo Reina Sofia in Madrid (Thomas Schütte: Hindsight, 2010) and the Castello di Rivoli in Turin (2012). In 2005 Schuette was awarded the Golden Lion for his presentation at the Venice Biennale.
