Renzo Piano. Progetti d’acqua (Water Projects) / Fondazione Vedova, Venice

The Fondazione Emilio e Annabianca Vedova, and its President Alfredo Bianchini, present Renzo Piano. Progetti d’acqua, curated by Fabrizio Gazzarri. The show brings together 16 projects chosen by Renzo Piano himself, all conceived in relation to water.

Thanks to the ‘mise-en-scène’, designed and mounted by Studio Azzurro, visitors will be able to immerse themselves in a visual and acoustic environment providing an exhilarating tour through the architectural career of Renzo Piano.

The Magazzino del Sale navettes, whose ‘day job’ is to move around Emilio Vedova’s large canvases, have been recruited to support eight huge ultra-thin screens. The itinerary begins with a project created for the first performance of Luigi Nono’s Prometeo in the church of San Lorenzo in Venice in 1984, for which Emilio Vedova devised the lighting scheme.
From Venice the tour continues through Athens, Oslo, London, Genoa, Paris and New York before coming back to Venice and the Vedova Foundation itself.
The Fondazione Emilio e Annabianca Vedova is presenting Renzo Piano. Progetti d’acqua on the tenth anniversary of the Magazzino del Sale conversion, achieved through Renzo Piano’s generous and valuable gift of his renovation project in 2008, shortly after the death of his friend Emilio.
