The Brasilea Foundation in Basel currently presents an exhibition that combines contemporary art and design innovation. Entitled Impressões 2018:19 – from Basel to Brasil the show presents the work of five artists: Maria-Carmen Perlingeiro, Alex Flemming, Zezão, Christina Oiticica, and SHN (Marcelo Fazolin, Haroldo Paranhos, Eduardo Saretta). The presentation is a collaboration between the Brasilea Foundation and Laufen Bathrooms AG. The Impressões project shows Laufen’s manufacturing skills and the company’s commitment to promoting design, art and culture. For the 3rd edition of “Impressões”, the sculptor Maria-Carmen Perlingeiro exclusively designed a polyhedron, which Laufen then produced in Saphirkeramik. The polyhedron then served as a 3-dimensional basis for the work of the 5 artists. In this video, the representatives of Laufen Bathrooms AG and Brasilea Foundation provides us with an introduction to the project (in German, with English subtitles).
