An Introduction to the Work of Balthus (1/12)

This is the first film in a series that explores the work of French artist Balthus, on the occasion of the retrospective exhibition at Fondation Beyeler in Riehen (Basel, Switzerland) that was one of the highlights of the foundations program in 2018 (note: the current major exhibition at Fondation Beyeler that runs until May 6, 2019 is The Young Picasso – Blue and Rose Periods). The series starts with an overview of the show by curator Raphaël Bouvier, followed by a closer look at selected works over the next weeks.
