Inspired by the Fondation Beyeler’s location and its deep connection with nature, “Landscapes” by the American conceptual artist Jennifer Rubell is a series of interactive pieces designed specifically for the Fondation Beyeler. This exhibition delves into various aspects of our interaction with the natural environment, including contemplation, control, imagination, imitation, and representation. Jennifer Rubell (born 1970) is known for creating participatory artworks that blend elements of performance art, installation, and happenings. Her work invites viewers to actively engage, breaking the conventional boundary between observer and object and involving senses that are typically off-limits or overlooked in museum and gallery settings. Jennifer Rubell resides and works in New York City.
