Art Môtiers 2026

In this film, we step out of the White Cube and into the open countryside to enjoy art in nature — specifically in Switzerland’s Val de Travers, in the west of the country. The valley is known for its absinthe production and, since 1985, for an open-air art exhibition held every four to eight years in the village of Môtiers and its surroundings.

For the 2026 edition of Art Môtiers, around 40 artists were selected, including internationally renowned figures such as Pipilotti Rist and Olaf Breuning.

As you follow the art trail on foot, you encounter signposts that seem unsure of their direction, a glass waterfall, trembling rubbish bins, an oversized snail shell, what appears to be a declaration of love, and a hut that releases soap bubbles.

The participating artists of Art Môtiers 2026 are: Sophie Ballmer & Tarik Hayward, Gina Fischli, Karim Forlin, Florian Graf, Giona Bierens de Haan, Olaf Breuning, Davide Cascio, Tim Casari, Adrien Chevalley, Cod.Act, Noémie Doge, Adrian Fernandez Garcia, Martin Jakob, Lang/Baumann, Xénia Lucie Laffely, Léa Katharina Meier, Camille Mermet, Emmanuel Mbessé, Julie Monot, Samuel Mathiss, Mouvement Studio, Jan Van Oordt, Sandrine Pelletier, Pipilotti Rist, Augustin Rebetez, Delphine Reist, Delphine Renault, Anne Rochat & Jean Rochat, Alan Schmalz, Julie Semoroz, Jürg Stäuble, Mahtola Wittmer, Zimoun.
