“Made on Earth by Humans” (2024) is a bespoke electric DeLorean (eLorean) art car created by Swiss artist Beni Bischof. On display during Art Basel 2026 at the Basel Social Club, the artwork draws heavily on the iconic time-traveling vehicle from the 1985 film Back to the Future. The real estate firm Senn commissioned Bischof to transform an electric DeLorean into a mobile artwork and exhibition space for inaugurating a building in an innovation park near Basel in 2024. It was first shown at the Biennale Images Vevey (September 2024) and later at Kunstzone Lokremise in St. Gallen. Bischof fills the car with references to pop culture, art history, and his signature irreverent, multimedia style. It functions as both a sculptural object and a roving exhibition space.

Beni Bischof (b. 1976, Switzerland) is known for playful, subversive works that mix sculpture, painting, installation, and digital elements. His practice often satirizes everyday life, technology, consumerism, and cultural icons, with a raw, energetic aesthetic that can feel both retro and futuristic.
